Big Sean acquired a new house two months after selling his $11 mιllιon Mulholland Estates gated community home. The Grammy-nominated rapper, born Sean Anderson, paid $8.1 mιllιon for a smaller French Normandy-style estate in a guard-gated Encino enclave.

The 2005 property was refurbished four years ago and advertised for $10 mιllιon in May, but Anderson bought it for nearly $2 mιllιon less. The property, located on roughly a half-acre in a gated enclave with 18 huge houses, none of which are owned by celebrities, is ideal for large-scale partying.

A brick motorcourt and three-car garage front the stone-clad house, which resembles a European chateau. A grand foyer leads to almost 10,000 square feet of living space on three floors with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Big Sean will pay $850 a month in HOA dues, property taxes, maintenance, and mortgage payments for that splendor.

The main level has a contemporary gourmet kitchen with two big islands and Wolf and Viking appliances. French doors lead to a barbecue-equipped loggia from the breakfast nook. A formal living room has dome skylights and a full library wall, while a casual family room has a wood-burning fireplace and retractable large glass doors that lead to a covered, wood-lined patio with fireplace. Formal dining is available.

A winding staircase leads to a luxurious master retreat with a fireplace, private terrace, and walk-in closet. A spa-like bathroom has two vanities, a huge glass-enclosed shower, and a freestanding soaking tub in an alcove. This floor has a sauna, massage room, and spa.

The basement features a mirrored gym, luxury movie theater, 1,000-bottle wine cellar, and game area with wet bar for relaxing and entertaining. An air-conditioned pool house and Baja shelf surround a pool and spa in the verdant backyard. Finished with a Crestron home automation system that controls lighting, climate, music, alarms, and more.
