It was once a maraschino cherry manufacturing facility. Robert De Niro resides in a magnificent condominium perched high above the New York City skyline.
Famous Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt and Japanese architect Tatsuro Miki were responsible for building the landmark house. It is modeled after the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi, which highlights the beauty of imperfections in things and settings.
Home at 15 Central Park West
After leaving his cherished Tribeca, Robert De Niro’s new residence is a full-floor apartment on Central Park West. One of the most expensive rental properties in the area. De Niro resides in the historic 35AB, which consists of apartments 35A and 35B on the 35th floor.
This apartment was made available to them as a replacement after a fire disaster at their previous triplex at the Brentmore, 88 Central Park West, occurred in 2012. Since then, De Niro and Grace Hightower have been residing in a rental in the West Village as they await the completion of renovating work on their previous permanent property.
A steel entrepreneur, Leroy Schecter, owns the 6,000-square-foot, five-bedroom home on Central Park Street. In 2008, Leroy paid an astounding $18.9 mιllιon for the property. The apartment was put up for auction in 2012 with a bid of $95 bιllιon.
