As I have made my own garlic bread before, I have found it to be to die for. But when do I ever need a whole loaf of garlic bread at once?
Although I would be tempted to eat the entire loaf of garlic bread, I know deep down that it probably isn’t a great idea (look at me, a responsible adult!). This Homemade Freezer Garlic Bread solves that problem.
You can prepare garlic bread slices ahead of time, freeze them (unbaked), and then they’ll be ready to go whenever you want some, just like the kind that you buy in a box.
This delicious recipe Apronese will introduce to you below.
Freezer Garlic Bread: What’s So Great About It?
vAlmost. I’m kidding. It takes a few minutes to prepare and then you have a big stack of single serving slices at your disposal that you can pop into the oven at any time.
Whether you bake two slices or ten, there is no limit to what you can cook! Also, since you will be making the garlic butter topping by yourself, you will know exactly what’s in it (and what’s not in it). This always makes me feel good as a cook.
Garlic Bread: How Long Can You Keep It in the Freezer?
As much as I wish to avoid this, I try to use my garlic bread within three months of freezing it. However, if we are being honest, it never lasts that long.
When it comes to frozen foods, quality and flavor slowly decline while they are frozen, so if you don’t want to keep them too long, even if they are technically safe to eat, you don’t want to keep them for too long.

- 2 Tbsp olive oil ($0.32)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced ($0.32)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder ($0.02)
- 1/4 tsp salt ($0.02)
- 1 Tbsp dried parsley ( $0.30)
- 1 loaf French bread ($1.00)
Instructions

I have added the butter, the garlic, the garlic powder, the salt, and the parsley to a bowl, and mixed all of the ingredients together until they form a fairly smooth mixture. Once it is cool, remove the bowl from the heat.

To prepare the French bread, you will need to cut it in 1-inch thick slices (12-16 slices, depending on the size of your loaf). Spread the garlic spread evenly on each slice of bread by spreading it from edge to edge with about 1/2 a Tbsp of garlic spread. Put the slices on a baking sheet and place them in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes, so that the butter can firm up. Once the butter is firm, transfer the garlic bread to a gallon-sized freezer bag, where it can be stored for up to three months.
-
When you are ready to cook the frozen garlic bread slices, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Take the slices out of the freezer as many times as you like, and place them on the baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. If you prefer a softer garlic bread without crispy edges, then wrap the slices in foil before they go into the oven.
*It is important to remember that the baking time will vary depending on the kind of bread you use.

A bowl should be filled with eight tablespoons of room temperature salted butter, two tablespoons of olive oil, 4 cloves of minced garlic, one tablespoon dried parsley, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Using a mixer, mix all the ingredients together until they are fairly smooth (some butter chunks are okay).
You should take a loaf of French bread and cut it into small pieces, each about an inch long (12-16 pieces, depending on the size of the loaf
Basically, you need to place your bread slices on a baking sheet. You need to put the garlic spread on each piece of bread (about 1/2 to 1 Tbsp per slice) and spread it from edge to edge.
It is best to freeze the bread flat on a baking sheet for 30 minutes or until the garlic spread is firm (if you forget at 30 minutes and return to it later, that’s okay). The thing is, don’t let it sit for too long because it can start to dry out or absorb rogue flavors if you leave it over night.
Make sure you label your frozen garlic bread and date it before storing it, and make sure you store it in a gallon-sized freezer bag for long term storage.
Bake the frozen garlic bread by preheating the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place your frozen slices on a baking sheet and transfer to the hot oven once the oven is fully heated.
The garlic bread should be baked for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, or until the bread has reached its golden brown color. If you prefer a softer garlic bread, you can wrap it in foil before baking it, if you would prefer one with a crispy edge.
